ORGANIZATION

Carey & Associates International was formed in 1998 to provide training in the little known field of specialized building entries for law enforcement and military special operations personnel.  Several officers had observed lock picking skills employed in field situations and wanted to learn the techniques for search and arrest warrant service, probation and parole searches, hostage rescue, and more routine demands such as welfare checks on the elderly and the victims of violent crime.  Military special operations personnel had indicated a need for these skills for placement of forward observers and snipers, and the safety of personnel seeking a temporary place of refuge in hostile environments.  That gave rise to our Specialize Building Entry Course, a unique program that focuses on quietly carrying out field-expedient building entries under the most hazardous of situations.

Since our organization’s inception we have added additional services and courses for domestic and international organizations and companies in the private sector.  All of our courses are configured with maximum concern for efficient use of time.  Government agencies and private companies cannot afford to have their personnel away from their assigned duties for training any longer than necessary.  We have consciously strived to eliminate all “fluff” and focus on presenting as much information as efficiently as possible.

Our goal is to provide professional, quality service and training at a fair price and in a time efficient manner.  We feel that our fees are competitive and, in many cases, are below the prevailing market.  We can keep our fees down by minimizing unnecessary overhead and concentrating on the quality of the training and services we provide.

All of our staff are actively involved in their respective areas of expertise.  Staffing for our courses is provided at a level that will allow for adequate individual attention for students.

To date we have provided training to over 1500 law enforcement personnel from over 200 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies as well as members of the elite U.S. military special operations community.

Mission Statement:  The mission of Carey & Associates International is to meet the training and security needs of our government and private sector clients by providing the most current information in our areas of expertise in a professional, reliable, and efficient manner.

George Carey, founder and lead instructor, is a 30 year veteran of California law enforcement.  He has worked in Southern California as well is in Northern California and has a wide variety of experience in patrol and tactical operations.  George has been actively involved in SWAT for over 25 years and has been a breaching and entry specialist for 20 years.  He has been picking locks and employing other subtle breaching skills for 20 years and has used those techniques over 100 times in actual field situations, including events where covert entries  were carried out at occupied premises.  The most notable was the rescue of 34 students trapped inside the library building at Lindhurst High School in May of 1992.  A former student of the school entered the building armed with a shotgun, killing 4 students and wounding another 12.  He then took 84 students hostage in a large classroom.  Subtle breaching techniques were used to extract trapped students who were in the line of fire on the first floor and only 70 feet from the suspect.  The successful release of the 84 hostages was negotiated over an 8 hour period of time.

George’s military service was in the U.S. Navy were he was trained as a hospital corpsman specializing in field medicine.  He served with the U.S. Marines in Vietnam, conducting rapid response missions, long range reconnaissance, and MIA recoveries.  He also had experience as a search-and-rescue helicopter crewman.

George has also traveled thoughout the world as a private consultant responding to hostage events, providing crisis management training, conducting risk assessments, and providing VIP protection in Mexico, Central America, South America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

George holds a bachelors degree from San Diego State University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Jeanine Carey is the office manager and the person you are most apt to talk with, or exchange e-mails, when communicating with us.  She also assists with course logistics and is an accomplished lock picker in her own right.  She assists with instruction in our Specialized Building Entry Course. Additionally, Jeanine oversees the sales of specialized breaching tools designed specifically for the Specialize Building Entries.

We retain a cadre of entry specialists who assist with, and facilitate, our training courses.    All of our Training Associates are actively involved in their respective areas of expertise and have actual field experience in the subject matter they instruct on.  Their personal information is withheld out of respect for their privacy.
